CONTEXT
Education is key to development and growth, opening the door to universities, jobs, business investment, and health care.
Kenya faces several challenges in the educational sector. For example, there is a high dropout rate, poor academic results, inadequate learning facilities, etc. In Likoni, outside the city of Mombasa, school attendance is out of reach for many, not just because of the attendance fees, but also because of distance and families' need for an income. These kids need education in whatever form they can get.
Likoni is an economically deprived area containing many families for whom HCC is the only school they can afford.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
Hope Children's Centre Kenya School accommodates around 250 students. As of today, the school does not offer any libraries for the children. Hope Children's Centre e.V. has proposed to construct libraries for both the primary and secondary schools and to fully equip them with the necessary textbooks and materials that the children need to fulfill their curriculum.
Since the school needs space to be used as study rooms, the libraries will be equipped with the necessary furniture to use as rooms to concentrate on their studies.
The objectives include:
- Provide opportunities for better education through access to textbooks, materials, and necessary literature to attract more children to enroll and continue higher learning
- Provide the children with the quiet space needed to study and learn in an appropriate environment by equipping the libraries with the necessary furniture
