Thanks to your donations to the Emergency Relief Fund, aid packages with food, hygiene articles, and homeschooling materials were distributed once again - this time in Khayelitsha, the biggest township of Cape Town, South Africa. Here´s a message from Molo Mhlaba Schools, our local partner:
The aid packages were given to 108 families of our school project. Help is urgently needed because most of the parents lost their jobs because of the lockdown. "We’ve lost nearly 3 months due to the lockdown and coronavirus and South Africa has not even seen its peak.", says Rethabile Sonibare, Executive Director of Molo Mhlaba Schools. Nonetheless, the situation in South Africa is slowly normalizing and the schools are also allowed to open their doors again. Everyone was looking forward to this moment as it brings a little normality into the children’s lives.
Unfortunately, the economic situation will not recover quickly and many families will still depend on support. Therefore, every donation is still needed and appreciated.
