Smart classrooms for children in Nepal

Every time we share another successful school project, we feel happy and thankful to have partners who join their efforts for our common goal: to reach education for every child, despite social and economic difficulties.

As we know, Nepal, despite having a well-developed school system, faces many problems in the educational sphere: lower-caste discrimination, lack of physical infrastructure, textbooks, a unified national curriculum, monolingual instruction, lack of constructive and critical pedagogical strategies, and more.

In 2019 Acronis employees, in cooperation with our implementing partner GNI have started building a new school, namely the Shree Bagdola Primary School, in one of the villages in Kailali District in the far west Terai region of Nepal.

GNI has been working since 2002 to improve the lives of poor people in Nepal, primarily children, through child protection and education and other social sectors. Currently, GNI Nepal serves marginalized, vulnerable, and poor children, families, and communities in 19 districts across Nepal.

We are happy to share that the school construction has been successfully finished. The school continues to serve 122 children: 59 boys and 63 girls.

Moreover, in 2021, Acronis has launched another project at the Bagdola school, establishing Smart classrooms for the children. The purpose is to ensure the sustainability of the education in the area and precisely for that school, considering the significant role of digitization at modern schools.

The ICT equipment installation was completed at Shree Bagdola Basic School in April 2021. The school has 11 desktop computers, one laptop, projector, sound system, and 32 GB pen drive.

We are thrilled to be part of this fantastic initiative to enable computer literacy for schoolchildren, equip them with new skills, and improve their competence in digital space.

We express our deep appreciation to the Acronis Cyber Foundation for its constant support and engagement to improve education for children.
